There are two ways that you can create templates to use with your Reconnect channels. The first is to create a message in a campaign, and save it as a template. The second, described here, is to create a JSON template from the Templates tab and save it to your section.
Create a new template
- In the Templates tab, click Create Template.
- Select a channel for the template, and then select the template type:
- Name your template, and optionally, add notes, labels, and a custom thumbnail.
- Click Next. The JSON content editor appears. Enter the payload for the template in JSON format (or for Twilio SMS messages, plain text).
- Click Save. The template is now available for use in the channel campaigns.
Note: You can go back and edit the template whenever you want. However, note that editing a template affects all campaign variations that are already using it.
The Templates tab
Templates created in your section appear in the Templates tab as table, where you can:
- Filter the list by:
- Channel
- Trigger
- Status
- Label
- Search by template name, using the search bar.
- View all variations using the template, in the Variations column.
When you click the number, a list of the variations appears. You can navigate to any of the linked variations, or unlink all variations from that template by clicking Unlink All). - In each template row you can:
- Edit the template: Click the Edit icon (hover to display) or the template name.
- Duplicate the template: Click the Duplicate icon (hover to display).
- Archive/unarchive the template: Click the Archive icon (hover to display).
-
In the additional optionsmenu you can select:
- Activity: View the template's activity page.
-
Delete: Delete the template.
Deleting a template that's linked to one or more variations doesn't “harm” the variations, but it does mean you can no longer apply changes to all these variations at once, by editing the template.
