This article explains how to set up the integration of triggered emails with your Oracle Responsys account. With this integration, triggered emails will be sent from your ESP, enabling you to manage frequency capping, view reports, and have more complete control of how Dynamic Yield triggered emails are sent as part of the rest of your email program.
Prerequisites
- Responsys integration enabled on your account. Contact your technical account manager for help with this.
- One or both of the following set up:
Note: The Responsys integration now supports raw email addresses, hashed email addresses, and any external identifiers that are are supported in Responsys. If you use hashed email addresses or other external identifiers, the identifier used in the Message Opt-in and Opt-out events must be the same CUID or identifier used in your omnichannel events.
Enable the Integration
- In Responsys, create an API user to use. Set it the role API Admin.
- In the Experience OS console, go to Settings › Integrations, and click Oracle Responsys.
- Turn on the toggle to Enable integration.
- In the Setup Responsys API Calls popup, do the following:
- Select the Identifier Type you use in your identification events:
- Select EMAIL if the opted-in email addresses feed or message opt-in and opt-out events send a raw email address as the identifier.
- Select EXTERNAL if the message opt-in and opt-out events send a hashed email address or any other identifier that is not a raw email address.
- Set the Responsys endpoint: This is where Dynamic Yield sends the POST request. By default, this is the endpoint of the Trigger Email Message, but you can modify it to use the endpoint of the Trigger Custom Event for additional flexibility.
After the username and password are authenticated, the complete URL is stored in Dynamic Yield and used to trigger the desired endpoint.
The variable ${dyCampaignName} is replaced with each campaign name that triggers the endpoint. - Enter the Username and Password: Your Responsys credentials to permit access to Responsys REST APIs.
- Select the Identifier Type you use in your identification events:
- When the authentication setup is complete, click Next to test communication via the endpoint you defined and view the server response. For testing purposes, the campaign name remains static.
- Click Save Settings.
You can now use Responsys as your ESP to create triggered emails.
