For the customer-facing article, see Bring Your Own Logic.
Bring Your Own Logic enables customers to upload the output of their own algorithms to the Dynamic Yield console, thus maintaining their business model, but also benefitting from the Dynamic Yield recommendations, audiences, testing, and merchandising capabilities.
These custom algorithms are not personalized, but rather are based on product context (like similarity, viewed/bought together, or "Shop the look"), and are implemented as "SKU to multiple SKUs". This means that in a product feed, customers can add up to 10 algorithm columns (these must be within the limit of 300 columns for the feed), and define a list of SKUs to display for each product (SKU) in the feed.
This feature is in early access. This means that:
- Customers syncing their feed via API can't use it yet. It will become available for this use by the end of August 2022.
- It up to you, the CSM, to make sure that the customer knows that they can't onboard more than 10 algorithms (there's no enforcement in the console yet).
- The feature is almost fully documented in a customer-facing article, except for the structure of the column name. Note that customers can't edit or remove columns from the feed after they are added, so make sure to inform your customers regarding the name structure and how they choose a name, because it will remain visible as an algorithm within the console interface. The structure of the column name is: algo:items:[ALGORITHM NAME]. For example: algo:items:Shop The Look.
