Visual Search, part of the Experience Search application, is available only via API. API integrations can be time-consuming and technically demanding, but Dynamic Yield simplifies the process with ready-to-use no-code templates. These templates enable quick and seamless implementation of a complete visual search experience—without the need for extensive development resources.
The templates include the full user journey:
- Entry point: A camera icon or banner that launches the visual search flow.
- Image upload and crop: A modal window where users can upload and crop their image to improve search accuracy.
- Search results page: A results interface with filtering and sorting options for refined product discovery.
Step 1: Create a Visual Search campaign

In Experience Search, create a Visual Search campaign.

Configure the Search Settings.

Generate a client-side API key and copy it.

Step 2: Create a Dynamic Content campaign

In Experience Web, create a new Dynamic Content campaign.

Configure the location for the camera icon or banner, and then click Next.

Click New Variation and then enter "Visual Search" in the search bar to filter your templates.

Select the template that best fits your needs.
Step 3: Insert your API key
Each template includes an API key variable.

Paste the API key you generated in the Experience Search campaign setup into the API key variable.

Test the Visual Search results.

Preview the experience on your website.
