After you create a trigger, the next step is to configure a variation of the triggered message. In each variation, you can define one message per channel and assign a channel prioritization strategy to control how the message is delivered. This ensures that each user receives the message through the most appropriate channel. You can also A/B test different message and channel variations.
Create the message
- Click the name of the channel you want to use for the variation.
Alternatively, you can copy a variation from a different campaign. - Select a template. This view displays our out-of-the-box templates and any templates you've created. Learn more about Reconnect templates.
- In Message Body tab, create your message according to the instructions for the channel you selected:
- SMS
- App Push
- Web Push
Apply a prioritization strategy
When your section has two or more integrated channels, set a channel prioritization strategy. This ensures users receive messages only through the highest-priority channel they’ve opted into, helping you avoid over-communication.

The order of your channels changes according to the prioritization strategy you set. |
Each strategy relates to different channel characteristics so that you can optimize the delivery strategy:
- Hype: Prioritizes rich-content channels, ideal for multi-product displays or adding more recommendations.
- Ping: Prioritizes channels with immediate delivery, best for urgent and time-limited messages.
- Inform: Prioritizes channels that support revisiting message, that include an inbox or message center.
- Broadcast: Send the message through all the opted-in channels at the same time. For cases where you really want to get the user's attention, like major sales or price-drops.
