ChatGPT provides a powerful platform for conversational commerce and product discovery. By integrating Dynamic Yield AI-powered capabilities into a ChatGPT app, you can extend your existing product discovery experience into ChatGPT while continuing to manage it in ExperienceOS.
The integration uses a dedicated MCP server URL generated automatically in ExperienceOS. After connecting the integration, shoppers can discover your brand through ChatGPT's Plugins directory and interact with it while Dynamic Yield powers the conversational experience and provides usage and performance reporting.
With the ChatGPT integration, you can:
- Extend your AI assistant-powered recommendations and product discovery into ChatGPT conversations
- Set up your ChatGPT integration in OpenAI using an MCP Server URL generated in ExperienceOS, without building or hosting a custom server.
- Use your existing Shopping Muse configuration without duplicating logic or creating a separate setup
- Monitor ChatGPT app usage and performance in Experience OS, including impressions, clicks, and click-through rate (CTR)
Set up the integration
Prerequisites
- The following Experience OS apps enabled for your section:
- Shopping Muse
- ChatGPT
- Access to the OpenAI Developer Dashboard and an OpenAI account that supports ChatGPT app development
Note: ExperienceOS includes a ChatGPT app that you use to configure the integration and view performance reports. OpenAI also refers to the integration itself as a ChatGPT app. Shoppers discover and install it through the Plugins directory in ChatGPT.
In Experience OS:
- Click the ChatGPT app icon and then select Integrate with OpenAI.
In the setup window, copy the MCP Server URL. You'll need this to complete your OpenAI ChatGPT app setup.
The MCP Server URL is unique to your site and generated automatically.

Next, go to OpenAI and follow the instructions to create your ChatGPT app and submit it as a plugin.
In OpenAI:
Follow the setup as directed by OpenAI. Note the following steps that involve Dynamic Yield:
- Provide the MCP server URL that you copied in the previous step.
! This is the heart of the integration, connecting Dynamic Yield to ChatGPT. - Domain verification:
! This step is necessary to complete activation- Copy the verification token provided by OpenAI.
- Go back to Experience OS.
In Experience OS:
- Click the ChatGPT app icon and then select Integrate with OpenAI.
- Paste the token you received from OpenAI and click Submit Token.
When the verification is complete, go back to OpenAI and rerun the verification check.
View integration performance
When your ChatGPT app is approved, active, and receiving data, click View Report in Experience OS to view performance information, including:
- Impressions
- Clicks
- Click-through rate (CTR)
- Purchase – Coming soon
- Revenue – Coming soon
