Enable shoppers to manage their cart in Shopping Muse and proceed directly to your checkout page when they are ready to complete their purchase. Shoppers can use natural-language requests to:
- View the products in their cart
- Add products to their cart
- Remove products from their cart
- Proceed to checkout
When a shopper asks to check out, Shopping Muse redirects them to your existing checkout page. Checkout does not take place in the conversation.
Before you begin
To configure cart management in Shopping Muse, you need:
- A UCP-compliant URL that connects Shopping Muse to your e-commerce platform
- An API key
For checkout initiation you need:
- The URL of your checkout page
Important: The implementation of these features requires the help of your technical team. Depending on access roles, either they can prepare the connection to your e-commerce platform within Experience OS, or you can assist them with the actions within Experience OS.

Configure cart management
- In Shopping Muse, click Customize, and open the Commerce tab.
- Next to Cart management, select Add.
- Enter the UCP-compliant URL for your e-commerce platform.
- Enter your API key.
- Select Test Connection.
- When the connection test succeeds, save the configuration.
After you configure cart management, shoppers can ask Shopping Muse to view their cart, add products, or remove products.
Configure checkout initiation
- In Customize Agent › Commerce, next to Initiate checkout, select Add.
- Enter the checkout page URL.
- Save the configuration.
When a shopper asks to proceed to checkout, Shopping Muse redirects them to this page to complete their purchase.
