You can onboard your unique business logic to Dynamic Yield as recommendation algorithms. These can be models that your data scientists develop, or they can be curated manually by your master stylists. All models must be contextual to a specific product (SKU). For example:
- Shop the Look
- Pair It With
- Bundle Products
- Related Products
- Similar Products
- Bought Together
After the logic is onboarded, you can use this model exactly like any other algorithm. This means you can apply filters and rules, use any recommendation template, A/B test, and more.
How it works
Add your product logic (list of SKUs) to your product feed as a column. Contact your technical account manager for more information about the column name and format. You can upload up to 10 algorithms (within the limits of 300 columns per feed, and 1000 characters per column).
Column Name | Description | Values Format | Example |
---|---|---|---|
algo:items:[ALGORITHM NAME] For example: algo:items:Shop The Look Note that no special characters are allowed. Learn more about product feed column names. |
Values: List of product SKUs (up to 100 SKUs) The first SKU is the highest rank, and is shown first. If the column is empty, the strategy will return empty. No fallback. |
Strings (Separated by pipes with no spaces; up to 1,000 characters; no special characters) |
Algorithm values: 243|9804|135|6320|413
|
After you upload your product list, your custom logic is available for use in the strategies screen in the By your brand section in the Strategies dropdown.
Notes:
- You can onboard up to 10 business logic algorithms.
- Your logic columns can't be used in filters, targeting conditions, or audiences.
- Column names can’t be changed or deleted after they are added.
- In Cart and Email contexts, only the first SKU is considered.

Products that are out of stock are automatically filtered out and are not shown in the results.
