User Travel Spend is an Experience OS extension powered by the data of Mastercard. It's part of the Cardholder Spend Insights extension set for card issuers.
About Cardholder Spend Insights
User Travel Spend enables you to target known users based on their historical and predictive travel-related spending behavior. The extension leverages insights from Mastercard data about spend within the travel subcategories (such as accommodations, airlines, vehicle rentals, and many more) and also predictive models on users' likelihood to travel, spend, or expand to new travel and tourism categories.
User Travel Spend targets users based on historical and predictive spend across the following travel categories:
Cross-border spend occurs in a country different from the one where the card was issued
Domestic spend occurs in a location similar to the country where the card was issued

Use case examples
- Increase cross-border spending by prompting lucrative benefits and providing attractive offers to users who are likely to travel.
- Encourage spend on travel categories based on spending behavior by promoting highly relevant and personalized offers to users based on their historical spending within a specific category. For example, promote hotel discount offers to users who are high spenders in the accommodation category.
About Cardholder Spend Insights
Cardholder Spend Insights is a set of extensions designed for card issuers, to create audiences based on targeting conditions that enable you to offer customers hyper-personalized experiences. The extensions use insights into users' past spending behavior based on rich data, and also leverage Mastercard propensity modeling techniques to predict future behavior.
Working with Mastercard data
The extensions use datasets generated by Mastercard (covering Mastercard cardholders), which are then provided to each issuer.
Each data set is aggregated at the user level and captures insights based on the user's activity in the past 12 months. The data is updated weekly.
