Tips & Tricks: CSS in Custom Code Campaigns
What's new
With our June 2019 release, we’ve added the ability to inject CSS into Custom Code Campaigns (previously Custom JavaScript Campaigns). This is particularly practical when creating complex HTML design changes across the site, such as reordering categories in the menu, or changing the design of elements in multiple locations.
Until recently, ‘Custom Campaigns’ were Javascript based variations. While this has always been a powerful capability allowing developers to manipulate almost anything on the site, it requires translating HTML design (CSS) to Javascript code - which made it a bit complex especially for the non-Javascript savvy.
What is a Custom Campaign
Custom Campaigns enable you to easily create custom JavaScript code and CSS to add or manipulate any element on your page or app. You can change, move, swap, design or otherwise manipulate any element with almost no limitations. This lets you fully utilize Dynamic Yield’s optimization and personalization capabilities to leverage any modification you want to try out.
For example:
- Adding badges to relevant products across the site
- Replacing all the “Out of Stock” tags on the site with “Coming Soon”
- Testing different colors or copy on call to action buttons
