Why are audiences which should cover up to 100% of the users are covering more than 100% of the users in the audience manager list?
Issue:
There are 2 audiences that should cover all users in the site. The audiences are:
- New users
- Returning users
When looking at the number of users in the Audience Manager list, it is showing more users than the overall users.
Solution:
The Audience Manager list, shows the number of users that entered the audience for the timeframe that is set on the top right side.
These audiences are based on session, however the audience manager report is based on days (yesterday, last 7 days or last 30 days).
This means that during the day, it is possible for the same user to enter the “new users”” audience and return later that day and enter “returning users” audience.
In the audience manager we will see that user counted in both audiences

The Audience Manager report displays the number of users who joined the audience within the selected timeframe, which can be adjusted at the top right corner.
While audiences are based on sessions, the Audience Manager report aggregates data by days (such as "yesterday," "last 7 days," or "last 30 days"). This setup means that within a single day, the same user might be counted in multiple audiences. For example, a user could be categorized as a "new user" upon their first visit and then later as a "returning user" if they come back the same day.
As a result, the Audience Manager will reflect this user in both the "new users" and "returning users" audiences.
