Offsite Purchase Data in Experience Reports
As long as you have offsite purchase events setup, your purchases will be recorded by DY - which is why you will have your purchases reflected on the dashboard, even though you may not see it in your experience reports.
If your purchases are offsite, it is important to update your attribution window for your campaigns in order to ensure purchases are also recorded for your campaigns.
Within the experience settings of your campaigns, by default, the attribution window is set to end after the session ends:
When a customer is redirected offsite, this will effectively break the session, which means that any purchases made thereafter will not be attributed to any of your campaigns.
In order to avoid this, you need to extend the attribution window. These are the default options we offer:
However, depending on how soon your users may return to the site, we have a feature flag that we can enable for you that will allow you to set your attribution end to 30 minutes after a session ends:
Once your user returns to the site after having made the purchase, the event will be tied to them and consequently added to any reports for campaigns that they may have been served.
You are able to choose what makes the most sense to you in terms of how long you would like to leave the window open. Feel free to read our article on Experience Advanced Settings in case you need any assistance with updating your attribution.
