Hi there,

Our spotlight of 5 of the most-used design templates and corresponding use case examples will give you ideas for serving site visitors with optimal, personalized content across their journey on your site.Â
#1: Replace Inactive Tab Title Template - Custom Code Campaign
Nudge inactive users that have 1+ items in their cart back to your site by serving a flashing inactive browser tab message with a gentle reminder of their in-cart products.Â
Campaign Setup Overview
Create a new Custom Code campaign. Define the Trigger as Page load and the Frequency as Once per Pageview, then create an Experience with the following:
- Define a targeting condition for the Custom Evaluator of Number of Items in Cart and set the operator to at least 1
- Create a new Variation and select the Replace Inactive Tab Title template:
- From the Design Tab of the Variation window, define the inactive tab messaging via-the New Title variable. Use the Faviconvariable to upload your brand's logo image.
- After you've designed the Variation, click the Preview on site link. Open a second browser tab in the same window to properly preview the behavior and messaging of the flashing tab. For more details, check out the use case write-up from the DY Inspiration Library here.
#2: Message Bar Template - Dynamic Content Campaign
Serve a subtle, strategically placed message bar on the homepage of your site to inform users of an upcoming or ongoing limited time offer or additional discount on sale products.
Campaign Setup Overview
Create a new Dynamic Content campaign. Select Single for the Layout and use the CSS Selector tool to specify the on-page placement of the banner before the top bar navigation menu. Then, create an Experience with the following:
- Define targeting conditions for any Audiences you wish to target with the limited time sale on sale promotional message (if applicable)
- Create a new Variation and select the Message Bar template:
- On the Design tab of the Variation window, define the text, link, and color variables. When you're finished designing the Variation, your banner could look something like this:
#3: Image Template - Notification Campaign
Promote a new line of products to users that visit Product Pages (PDPs) that belong to the same Category as the new product line by repurposing graphics that have already been designed by your marketing or creative teams. Create a quick & effective image Notification by uploading a premade image and linking it to the corresponding collection or subcategory page.
Campaign Setup Overview
Create a new Notification campaign and select whichever Position on Screen option that you prefer. Specify the Trigger as Time on Page at 5 seconds and set the Frequency to One per session, then create an Experience with the following:
- Target the Experience to PDPs of items that belong to the same Category as the new line of products
- Create a new Variation and select the Image template:
- On the Design tab of the Variation window, upload the image graphic using the Image URL variable and define the Image Link variable as the URL of the page that users will land on when they click the Notification image:
#4: Basic Popup Template - Overlay Campaign
Drive users that have viewed several PDPs from the same Category to view that Category's best sellers by serving them with a basic popup Overlay that highlights one of those best selling products. Users that click the Overlay will land on the main page for that Category with products sorted by Best Selling.Â
Campaign Setup Overview
Create a new Overlay campaign and specify the Trigger as Page Load and the Frequency as Once per session, then create an Experience with the following:
- Target the Experience to users that have viewed at least 5 Product Pages that belong to the same Category
- Create a new Variation and select the Basic Popup template:
- On the Design tab of the Variation window, provide messaging that is relevant for the Category and upload an image of a best selling product from that Category. Define the Button URL as the URL for the Category page sorted by Best Selling:
#5: Countdown Bar Template - Notification Campaign
Pique a user's sense of urgency to take advantage of a limited time promotional discount on regularly full priced items by serving them with a countdown Notification bar that shows them how much longer the discount will be valid. Â
Campaign Setup Overview
Create a new Notification campaign and select Bottom Bar for the Position on Screen. Specify the Trigger as Page Load and set the Frequency to Once per pageview, then create an Experience with the following:
- Target the Experience to PDPs of the regularly priced items that will be part of the promotion (i.e., that will be discounted for a limited time)
- Create a new Variation and select the Countdown Bar template:
- On the Design tab of the Variation window, provide the messaging for the limited time discount offer. Using the variables for Year, Day, Month, and Time, specify the exact time and date that the discount offer will expire. The system will calculate remaining time accordingly in real time:
