What is the effect of invalid add to cart/purchase events?

    It depends what you mean by “invalid”. Assuming we’re talking about an event that was fired, but includes an SKU that does not appear in feed, or any other wrong property - it should not affect the experience reports (AKA as A/B test reports).

    It will affect:

    • Recommendations strategies: these Add to Cart events won’t contribute to the product scoring.
    • Not include in targeting or audience that are based on specific add to cart events (e.g. if there’s an audience of users that added to cart products from Shoes category, and there was an invalid event when adding to cart a shoe).
    • Affinity profile of the user will not consider this event.
