GDPR - consent management system integration : Does DY serve any experience prior to user consent ?

Hello,

I just read this knowledge base article regarding consent management system integration which says that :

"This method involves configuring a set of API calls as well as configuring a site variable instructing Dynamic Yield to wait for the management system to solicit user data collection preference before collecting and storing user data."

So DY won't collect or store user data as long as the user have not consent, BUT, will DY serve any campaigns variation prior to consent ?
